Like the original Neumann M49, the BeesNeez M49 Microphone shares the same physical size and sonic characteristics of its namesake. Many clones of this quality can cost you 3-4 times as much. But now, you can have one with higher quality internals, including the most important part, a world class M7 capsule, transformer, and unique Swivel Mount Connector, all at an affordable price.

Circuit Design

The transformer in the BeesNeez M49 Clone is BV-11t, which is a 10:1 toroidal transformer, wound with pure copper wire around a ribbon-taped Mu metal core.

The capsule is the BeesNeez M7 microphone capsule which is hand made in our Australian factory from the original gun barrel material that Neumann used more than 65 years ago. Sonically, the BeesNeez M7 is a match for the original Neumann M7. The main reason for the popularity of this capsule is its realistic analogy of the source material, its great mathematic proximity, and its sultry overtones.

The tube choice for the BeesNeez M49 Microphone is a 6S6B-V Russian Military tube, which behaves very much like the AC701k.
